We have exciting news on The Heart of Nuba, the powerful documentary film telling the story of American doctor Tom Catena serving one million patients in the war-torn Nuba Mountains of Sudan. Just coming off the film’s successful premiere in New York, director Kenneth A. Carlson has been featured on CNN, Sirius XM, and other media. His interview with Nightline will air Thursday, April 5.

COMING TO THEATERS THIS WEEK!
The Heart of Nuba will have its long-awaited theatrical opening this week, in New York City at the Village East Cinema. Please spread the word!

THE HEART OF NUBA ON CNN
On March 27 CNN International ran an outstanding segment on Dr. Tom Catena and The Heart of Nuba. Anchor Isha Sesay interviewed Kenneth A. Carlson, as well as Dr. Tom, who was Skyped in the Nuba Mountains.
Also participating in the conversation were New York Times journalist Nicholas Kristof, and Senior Advisor to the Enough Project, Omer Ismail.

MARCH 26th: U.S. PREMIERE WITH CATHOLIC MEDICAL MISSION BOARD, NEW YORK
On March 26 the Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) hosted the exclusive New York Premiere of The Heart of Nuba at the Village East Cinema. The event was sold out and the reception for the film was overwhelmingly enthusiastic.
Thirty one members of Tom Catena’s family attended the premiere and sent special messages to Sudan from the red carpet. The house was full with supporters of Dr. Tom and CMMB, which has been a vital partner in fundraising for, and getting humanitarian aid to, Mother of Mercy Hospital. Members of the press and representatives from Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office were also in attendance.

CATHOLICS IN MEDIA ASSOCIATES AWARDS THE HEART OF NUBA
On March 16 Catholics In Media Associates (CIMA), the Catholic-peer association for the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, presented Kenneth A. Carlson, Director/Producer, and Maria Shriver, Executive Producer with the 2018 CIMA Social Justice Award in Anaheim.

THE HEART OF NUBA TO SCREEN AT ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURES, ARTS AND SCIENCES
On April 15 the Academy will host a private screening of The Heart of Nuba. An invitation-only event, the screening will be followed by a Q & A with Kenneth A. Carlson, producer Jeff Werner, editor Sarah Brockhoff and composer Randy Miller. |
