JUNE 2018 BULLETIN
NEWS ON THE HEART OF NUBA FILM AND SOCIAL IMPACT CAMPAIGN
The big news is The Heart of Nuba will be available on Hulu shortly! The film is coming to a television, computer, tablet or phone near you on July 7 – just a little over a week away. Schedule your viewing party now!
If you don’t have Hulu it is available on a free trial for 30 days. This might be the right time to try it out.
New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof sends out a weekly email to his readers. This week he gave a great shout out to Dr. Tom and his supporters. A sincere thanks to Mr. Walker and to the many who have donated to keep Mother of Mercy Hospital. You are helping to save lives.
“Further proof that although I may not have the best columns, I have the best readers: One reader, Telford Walker of California, just sent in a $200,000 donation to a hospital in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan run by Dr. Tom Catena. I wrote about the amazing ‘Dr. Tom’ a few years ago (in a column with a headline quoting a patient: ‘He’s Jesus Christ’), prompting more than $1 million in donations from readers (the best vehicle for supporting him is www.amhf.us). There’s also a great film about his work called ‘Heart of Nuba.’ Thanks to all the readers who over the years have donated so much time and money to the causes I’ve written about.”
Thank you to the Africa Mission Healthcare Foundation and everyone who donated money so that a new generator could be delivered to the hospital!
